Parcel Logistics Manager
Job Summary
We're looking for a Parcel Logistics Manager to own the economics and performance of Bison's US parcel shipping network - managed from our Kaunas office. We process thousands of ground shipments every month - and with that volume comes both serious analytical complexity and real commercial leverage.
This is not a coordination role. It's an analytical and commercial position where you'll negotiate carrier contracts, model pricing scenarios, optimize zone distribution, and turn shipment data into decisions that protect order-level margin. Pricing is only half of it: you also own how the service agreement is actually executed - holding carriers accountable to their commitments, spotting operational trends, problems, and opportunities in the data, and resolving them directly with the carriers.
We're not looking for someone who monitors shipping dashboards and reports what they see. We want someone who reads the data, identifies the leverage, and changes the economics.
Key Responsibilities
- Own ground shipping economics - track cost as % of revenue and drive continuous margin improvement
- Own service agreement execution - hold carriers accountable to contracted SLAs (delivery, transit time, damage and loss, billing accuracy) and resolve issues directly
- Lead carrier negotiations with UPS, FedEx - model rate scenarios and quantify business impact before committing
- Analyze shipment data at scale to surface cost patterns, outliers, and optimization opportunities
- Maintain precalculated shipping rates across the catalog and update them on every carrier agreement change
- Evaluate vendor-level economics and migrate vendors between carrier accounts where the numbers support it
- Run quarterly business reviews with primary carriers - bring data, track commitments, hold them accountable
- Advise Supplier Management, Marketplace, and CS teams on shipping cost implications
- Use AI tools to improve workflow efficiency and productivity
Qualifications
- 3+ years in parcel shipping, ground logistics, or transportation pricing - e-commerce or high-volume environments strongly preferred
- Hands-on experience negotiating carrier contracts (UPS, FedEx, or equivalent) and modeling rate scenarios
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Solid command of parcel pricing mechanics: zone-based rates, dimensional weight, fuel surcharges, accessorial fees.
- Comfortable working with large shipment datasets - Excel at minimum; SQL or BI tools a strong advantage
- Comfortable holding carriers accountable on operational performance, not just rates - reading service and exception data and turning it into action
- Experience using AI tools to improve workflow efficiency and productivity.
- You make decisions with numbers, not instinct
